Today’s prompt for the first day of week 2 of 30 Days of Kum is the Great Outdoors. Sam thinks the way to a girl’s heart is to take her hunting, does he think the same is true for Kurt? How does Sam persuade Kurt to go hunting or fishing or camping with him? Would Kurt ever deign to spend a night out in the woods? And of course, in the words of Burt Hummel, “From what I gathered, something happened in the tent.”

Today’s prompt is college, the big scary world out there beyond the walls of McKinley High School. Where do Kurt and Sam end up? Do they go to the same place or try to do long-distance? How would they adjust to college life? Maybe there’s an AU story out there about them meeting in college just begging to be written. If any of those sound interesting, today’s your chance!

Sam still remembers pretty clearly how he felt when he first realized he was gay at the age of fifteen. It wasn’t a guess at that point, there was no more wondering why he spent most of his time fantasizing about men, why he just couldn’t get off to Angelina Jolie when Brad Pitt was standing right next to her or any other questions he asked himself involving sexual desires or even what he hopes would happen in a relationship but it was a solution to fit the situation. Sam Evans doesn’t cry very often, but when he realized he was gay, his stomach sank to the bottom of his body, dragging his heart down with it, and he bawled. It hadn’t been tears of relief or tears of joy to finally have found himself—no, it was tears of intense guilt and shame, because he knew, even at the age of fifteen, that his life would suck at home for that exact reason, and that not a single soul in his family would accept him, nor would the rest of the world.

so i’m not very articulate with words and such but i think i’ve found something of analytical note. The parallels of Kurt=Rachel and Finn= Sam have already been established right? Well while listening to Dont you want me some connections came about in my head, and I just kinda wanted to talk them out with someone more versed in analysis.

The lyrics pretty much tell the story of how Blaine takes our Kurt from Mckinley, changes him, make him into someone new.

You were working as a waitress in a cocktail bar
When I met you
I picked you out, I shook you up, and turned you around
Turned you into someone new

Then, later in time (the song says 5 years, but i thing it was like 3-5 days in the show) it talks about how Blaine has made Kurt what he is, so Kurt HAS to want him. Or else Blaine will put him back in his place. But Kurt has Changed his mind about Blaine, Blaine is selfish, get’s all the solos. Now Blaine wants Kurt to change his mind and be in love with him again.

Now five years later on you’ve got the world at your feet
Success has been so easy for you
But don’t forget it’s me who put you where you are now
And I can put you back down too

Don’t, don’t you want me?
You know I can’t believe it when I hear that you won’t see me

So now we have Rachel(Kurt) singing about how she wanted to change, needed to be better. Which is Kurt wanting to be safe from Karofsky, with or without Blaine. It goes on to talk about how he was happy at Dalton, and that he did love Blaine, but that it’s time to live his life on his own (Break up with Blaine). That it’s just something he must do.

So am I crazy? or Does this tell the story of how Klaine will  play out? The fact that Rachel and Blaine kissed only strengthens this idea to me. The Kissed had their 3-5 day fling and it was over.

I originally wrote this for the Perfect Duet for the other 30 days of Kum prompt, but what would make Kum’s duet more perfect than happening at Nationals? Except maybe their duet being the reason they win nationals.

I dont think there is any one perfect duet for Kum, but I have ideas for a couple really good ones. I’ll put it under a read more so it doesn’t clog your dashboard.
